McNair Lions, led by President John Lake, has seen significant growth since its inception. In 2009, McNair member, Dr. Hector C. Butts, was elected President of the GSCL. Under his leadership, the GSCL has become an associate member of the USA Cricket Association (USACA), the national governing body in the US for cricket; as well as acceptance into the SER Tournament, in which the GSCL won.

Also in 2009, the club became the first in Georgia to start a women’s program under the watchful eyes of former West Indies player and USACA coach, Clayton Lambert. Lambert, a founding member of McNair Lions, returned in 2009 to coach the men. Nadia T. Gruny became the first female member and officer of the club. Inspired by the efforts of McNair, Gruny has pioneered a ladies cricket program in the San Francisco Bay Area under the auspices of the Bay Area Cricket Alliance.

Each year the club has progressed and continue to strive for new goals. McNair intends to be a competitive team in the League but more importantly, to be a positive impact in the local community.
