McNair’s Dr. Butts Elected President of GSCL
Dr Hector C. Butts, the Public Relations Officer of McNair Lions, was elected as President of the Georgia Supreme Cricket League. He accepted the mandate given by 75% of the voters to lead the League. His term in office, one year, serves to complete the current term of the Management Executive of the League, given the resignation of the past president. Dr. Butts thanked his supporters and member Clubs for the trust placed in him, asked for their continued support and advice, and expects that all will be on board to grow and develop the League.
Dr. Butts brings to the League a background that understands organizational building based on an understanding and respect for Constitution and By-laws. In taking a constitutional approach, he recognizes “teething problems of young organizations–organizations that are in transition, especially in the presence of their founders will be present. This will be the common characteristic that defines cricket organizations in these U.S.A. and even the world. As such he expects to be exposed to wide support from the general membership and public that is geared to the execution of goals and objectives of the GSCL as well as problems from persons who may have vested interest or just mere resistors of change. Whatever the challenges, internal or external to the League, he aims to let the League be recognized during his short stint, as the Premier League in the South East Region with the help of persons of good intent.
McNair Lions is proud of this success and looks forward to greater transparency and activity in the GSCL in 2009.
